So Rhys had Dance photos yesterday at McMasters Studio...so many little dancers done up to the nines in beautiful costumes, tons of make-up and fake hair galore!
She loved the make-up and dressing up for photos but I am just not sure that I will ever be the "DANCE MOM" with garment bags, make-up cases and hair pieces.

I just had a discussion with a friend about working part-time or staying at home...my response "not with the lifestyle we are used of living" and now I read Kate's post and feel like it could be done (with serious life changes).

Once I graduated school and started paying off loans I soon realized that I would be working for a long time (the joys of going to school in the USA when our dollar was worth 54 cents) but when it is paid off we could probably afford for me to work part-time.

I must admit that I do waste money! I love designer jeans and starbucks chai tea! both crazy expensive...but my new years resolution has been to take my lunch to work (a savings of $250 plus dollars a month)! I also buy my girls millions of things they don't need (especially whil shopping at Superstore)!!! I used to spend crazy amounts of scrapbook supplies and now have a stash the size of Michaels! All things I don't need, but like and want.

Just this week while shopping with Rhys I told her that she could pick one grocery treat (this was hard to do) she must have changed her mind a million times!!! "I want mini-eggs"..."I want cookies instead of mini eggs"..."I want ice-cream instead of cookies". This was hard, but I was so impressed when she said in the truck "maybe next time I will pick ice-cream". I think that too many times we give kids (and ourselves) everything we want instead of what we need.

The more I type the more I realze the things that could change.

What could you change to save a little money???

I really need to talk to Kate more about a budget!
She amazes me!!!! As do all families that can make it on one salary or have a wife work part-time!!

We had so much fun seeing the many characters at Disney World, getting pictures with them and a few autographs...

Disney Trip

We had an amazing time at Disney world.
Our favorite part was the lunch at Cinderella's Castle.
We were fortunate to have one of the last lunch reservations and therefor we were able to spend about 15 minutes with Cinderella when no other visitors were around.
Kenadi fell in love with "rella" as she called her and spent time talking to her, dancing with her, hugging her, and loving her. Cinderella was amazing with Kenadi and it was a moment I will never forget!
She also danced with the other little girls (my nieces) and taught them some princess etiquette. What an amazing time!

We also saw Snow White, Jasmine, Belle, Aurua and Prince Charming.

It was a wonderful lunch with great food and wonderful memories.

I have so many more photos to show you and send to blacks so that I can scrapbook my little heart out!
I promise to post more soon.

Thursday was Rhys' first day of pre-school...oh how time flies by!!!

I started a family tradition...
1.Special Breakfast )courtesy of my great husband)
2. New outfit for school (Gap: slouch boots, skinny jeans, jacket)
3. New backpack, runners (backyardigans of course), and water bottle.
4. Picture on the front step and in front of the school.

I can't believe my 3 lbs 8 oz little princess is off to pre-school... time has flown by and we are so greatful that she has done so well!

I was so sad watching her walk into her class.
I was so proud when she said to her classmates "Hi, my name is Rhys, what is your name?".

Can I freeze my kids at this age so they don't grow up???

My appologies for the lack of posting!!!!

I am so busy with my family, work and making jewellery that scrapbooking has taken the back seat.

I plan to catch up on my pages and great events that have been happening this year over the summer while I am off work.

Just a quick update:
1. Rhys is so much fun and expressing her wants, desires and feelings (as 2 or 3 year olds do)
2. Kenadi is walking and talking and growing up way too fast!
3. I have been accepted to have a table at Sundog in December and will be beading my heart out over the summer.
4. My jewellery is now available at McNally Robinson in Saskatoon.

Hope you are all doing well....i miss you!!!

Well...life has been pretty busy:
I went back to work full-time last week and I am booking jewellery parties like there is no tomorrow.
It seems like all I do is play with the girls after work, make jewellery and pray that a little magic fairy would clean my house and do my laundry!
Hope you are all doing well and enjoying spring! We have been going for walks every evening and splashing in the puddles...oh how I love Spring!

At our charm party a few of us were talking about a photography class to learn about our Cannon Digital Rebels. We all want to learn more about these great cameras!!

I have a photographer (Melina) who would teach us a class....
Location: Photography studio
Time: approx. 4 hours
Date: March 8th (Sunday afternoon from 1-5pm ish)
Cost: $50 or less (we are still working this out)

Christmas and Winter Layouts....

Okay, I can't even tell you how old this layout is!! I created it when MM came out with the metal frames but never used it. I decided to add a few new elements and put our sledding photos on it...sometimes it is fun to pre-make layouts but this page was going to be a prime example of why people don't do it!

I received a huge scrapbooking box from my one day sis-in-law for christmas and just had to use it...

These two layouts feature pages from my fast'n'fun class that I am slowly using up...only 150 8x8 to go (hee hee hee)

So...
I don't do New Year's resolutions...I don't take failing very well and therefore have never been into making goals that I won't/can't keep.
My "plans" for 2009...
1. Spending time with my girls watching them grow and learn new things

2. Getting my Jewellery business up and running...big plans (like a launch party so stay tuned).
3. Scrapbooking more ( I haven't done much of this lately).
4. Getting regular massages and pedicures.
5. Spending less on "crap" and buying more "good" quality items (this way I need less stuff and it will last longer).

Joey and I are heading to Vegas in March for my Christmas gift!!!
I was so excited...I have always wanted to go to Vegas!

We plan on staying at New York, New York (another fav city of mine)...

and I plan on doing a lot of Outlet Shopping...
Maybe I will get my Coach bag and Uggs for Christmas...just going to save all of my x-mas money til I get there!

Well we went to Home Depot and bought our$54 tree...set it in the stand and let the branches fall.
Sunday before we had lunch we all decorated it...then mid-afternoon (while I was out) it fell...Joey cleaned it up and salvaged all he could...set it back up and hoped for the best.
Then at supper it came crashing down again...all my childhood ornaments smashed into thousands of pieces!!!!

Santa Claus is coming to town..."I scared no"

What a difference a week makes!
Last week at Joey's party Rhys was scared of Santa and was trying to escape as soon as she sat on his knee!
This week she sat and smiled but was staying a safe distance away!!!
She told us "I scared no", so sweet!!! Last week she said "I scared Santa, I want my mommy".
We still have mall photos, two Christmas parties and a visit on Christmas Eve with Santa so we will see what kind of photo we get by our last visit.

1...I think I was a personal shopper in a former life! I LOVE TO SHOP AND MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS OFTEN GET ME TO PICK UP BIRTHDAY, CHRISTMAS, ANNIVERSARY, ETC. GIFTS FOR THEM INSTEAD OF DOING THE SHOPPING THEMSELVES.

2...I hate clutter!!! I AM CONSTANTLY CLEANING UP, PUTTING THINGS AWAY AND PURGING.

3...If I died tomorrow, the only thing that would scare me is not being there for my girls. I want to watch them grow up, become women, and have children of there own so that they can feel the unconditional love you have for your children.

4...I hate spending a lot of money on things....I LOVE A BARGAIN OR SALE! BUT I HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO BUY THE SAME THING IN A FEW DIFFERENT COLOURS IF I REALLY LIKE IT!!

5...When the girls are asleep I love to make jewellery and scrapbook! I wish I could survive with less sleep...I would love to do it until the wee hours of the morning!!!

6...I could live on Chai tea lattes and carrot cake from Starbucks! I would weigh 500lbs but I would be very happy!!

7...I love the smell of my girls!! I love to smell their hair when they sit on my lap! Is this crazy??

It's a "charmed" life

This time next week i will be at Sassy and Saucy's toggle party...
here are a few of my creations...none of my swap charms, just a few extras I have whipped up!

I am intrigued by clay and all the neat things you can make.

These are so quick and easy to make...all you need is:
1. Clay
2. Eye pins
3. Puff paint or Scribbles

How to:
1. Make your desired shape and put in an eye pin (trim them to fit so that only a small amount is sticking out - this is so that you can attach a jump ring to it and attach it to your charm bracelet).
2. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes
3. Let cool and decorate with puff paint.
4. Attach a jump ring and put onto a charm bracelet

We love Halloween at our house!!!
Two years ago today we brought Rhys home from the NICU after 5 weeks and 1 day in hospital. Joey went all over town to find her a pumpkin and we quickly carved it before the trick-or-treaters came.
Now here we are 2 years and 2 kids later...

Wow time flies...look how small Rhys was last year!!!

Yesterday Saucy and I had a Salted Caramel Hot chocolate at Starbucks...
We swapped our jewellery...NICU stories...children stories...discussed how small the world is because we know so many of the same people...and just had a great hour and a half visit. Thanks Saucy...we had a great time...see you at the Christmas swap!!!
I will post the beautiful necklace she made me tomorrow...I am going to wear it to our friends birthday party!!

Here is my Zombie Jar that I made for Karen...

This is Karen's Zombie Jar for Me...
It is my "Pumpkin Pixies"..I just love how she incorporated our family and quilting into the project! She was also super sweet and sent a book for the girls!!!
Rhys loves it and wants to see it all day long!!!

It is so neat how everyone took their own spin and created such wonderful masterpieces.

Well...my swap item arrived in one piece (thank goodness...I was very worried...sometimes you can't trust canada post).
Here was my clue...

And here was the finished product. I added a skeleton and a few skulls but this is last photo I took.

Well last year at this time we were in Kelowna exploring a pumpkin patch and having a blast.
Rhys loves "kunkins" and we want to take her to a pumpkin patch again....
